Altered Steampunk Tag by Marina Wilson

Good morning, everyone!  I hope all my Canadian friends are enjoying an extended weekend, and hope that everyone else had a great one!  Today, I have another gorgeous project created by design team member Marina Wilson to share with you 🙂  You must check out this awesome steampunk tag that she created:

Marina used Marion Smith’s Timekeeper paper on this beauty…and I totally I need some in my life now!  The paper combines beautifully with ButterBeeScraps metals, too (in my humble opinion).  Instead of using the standard corner filigrees, Marina opted to use some of the small gold filigrees (#558-G) from the shop.  She then strategically scattered several small gears around her embossed – and very true – quote.  You can see that she also added a small copper flower (#025-C) and bronze leaf (#670-B) with the cluster of gears along the left side of her tag.

Marina then decided to add just a touch of bling by gluing SS12 aquamarine and SS16 light rose rhinestones in the center of the gears.  For that finishing touch, Marina added some dyed seam binding with a few charms hanging from it…a bronze mustache and key, small bronze arrow, a miniature bronze bell, and a silver rosette.  Oh…and don’t forget the gold leaf around the edges…YUM!

If you’re interested in more of the details on how Marina created this tag, you should definitely hop on over to her YouTube channel and check out the video she uploaded…it is a complete process video (my favorite)!  Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have as much drool soiling your shirt as I do 😛  Cheers!
