Christmas Angel Ornament by Heidi Blankenship

Good morning, everyone!  I have another project share for you today, and it’s another beauty by Heidi 🙂  Heidi is doing a great job of getting us into the Christmas spirit by creating another fabulous ornament.

Heidi started with a Hobnail circle bezel as the base of the ornament.  She then added that amazing angel, filled the bezel with ICE Resin and sprinkled some glass glitter on top.  Once the resin was set, she cut a section from a Bronze Metal Filigree Embellishment (#020-B) and glued it into the upper right hand corner of the bezel (if you can imagine a corner on a circle…lol).  To get that shabby look on the filigree, Heidi first spray painted it with flat white Krylon paint and then buffed some of the dried paint off using steel wool.

Heidi finished embellishing the bezel by adding some SS8 Clear Crystal Rhinestone Chain Trim around the edge and clustered some SS12 Clear Flat Back Crystal Rhinestones and white flat back pearls around the filigree.  Here is a close up of the bezel:

To create the dangle hanging from the bottom of the ornament, Heidi used a Clear Glass Chandelier Drop Pendant (#GL1437-CL) and topped it with a Bronze Filigree Bead Cap (#CAP629-B).  I have to tell you, these bead caps are A-MAZ-ING!!!  To finish the beaded dangle, Heidi used some glass pearls from her own stash coupled with an 8mm Clear Rhinestone and Bronze Rondelle Spacer Bead (#BD008-B/CL), a 6mm Clear Rhinestone and Bronze Rondelle Spacer Bead (#BD006-B/CL) and a Bronze Filigree Bead Cap (#CAP052-B).

Finally, Heidi used some seam binding to create a loop for hanging the ornament on her tree.  You can also find this project over on Heidi’s blog – she always loves when you show her a little love 🙂  Thanks a bunch for stopping by!  …until next time…CHEERS!

These are beautiful! Can you tell me where to get the plastic circles..are they called bezels?? Ty 🙂

Margaret, Heidi used the Hobnail circle bezel from Spellbinders for the base of this ornament. These bezels are made from metal, and you need to add the picture and resin over top. You should be able to purchase them from anywhere that sells Spellbinders products, provided they are still available.
