Christmas Poinsettia Cards by Monica Roca

Good evening, everyone!  I have another Christmas project to share with you tonight 🙂  Design team member Monica Roca created two gorgeous Christmas cards for us all to oogle at.

Monica created her first card using a combination of black and shimmer card stock as the base and matting.  She started by stamping a Christmas sentiment from the Paper Trey Ink Think Big Favorites #20 stamp set and embossing it using gold detail embossing powder from Stampendous.  To create the focal point, Monica started by layering a piece of the new Vintage Damask Cotton Ribbon (#RB042-N) over six Bronze Metal Filigree Embellishments (#083-B), also new to the shop.

Monica then used a couple of die cuts to create the poinsettia and foliage in the center of the ribbon – Pine Branches from Cheerylynn Designs and Poinsettia with Veins by Marianne’s Creatables.  To create the center of the poinsettia, Monica used six Miniature Bronze Bell Charms and an SS30 Siam flat back rhinestone from her own stash.  She then finished the card by adding SS12 Siam Flat Back Glass Rhinestones along the center of the ribbon and Bronze Corner Metal Filigree Embellishments (#730-B) to each of the corners.

Monica fashioned her second card after her first but used glitter paper as the matting instead of the shimmer cardstock.  I’m telling you, I just love the tone on tone, and the picture really doesn’t do this card justice…it glitters like crazy!

Once the base of the card was created, Monica evenly spaced six Bronze Rhombus Metal Filigree Embellishments (#418-B) to create a beautiful background for her card.  Monica then added SS20 Siam Flat Back Glass Rhinestones to esch of the filigrees and a banner stamped with the same Christmas sentiment as on her first card.  Monica then added another poinsettia along the left edge of her card.  Finally, Monica added a Bronze Corner Metal Filigree Embellishments (#730-B) to each of the corners of her card.

If you’re anxious to have a boo inside these two gems, please hop on over to YouTube and watch Monica’s video.  Otherwise, I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below 😉  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by this evening…wishing you all a great week ahead!  Cheers!
