Gilded Masculine Cards

If you have a difficult time designing projects for men, you are going to want to take note.  Design team member, Monica Roca did a beautiful job on these four cards that ooze testosterone.  She started with the perfect background on all four cards – gilding flakes.  If you have never used this product, I highly recommend it.  It is as easy (and messy) as glitter, and you end up with a beautifully foiled background that feels like velvet.

I figure that since Father’s Day is right around the corner, it is most appropriate to start with a suitable card.  Monica started by layering two Cheerylynn Gears Border (B361) die cuts over her gilded background.  She created a center focal point using a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-One die cut with “dad” spelled out using the Wooden Letters from my shop.  SS16 Jet Flat Back Glass Rhinestones radiate out from the sides of the label, and a combination of the Medium Mixed Gears and Miniature Bronze Gears are clustered in opposite corners.  Finally, Monica finished off all four corners of this card front using the Bronze Corner Filigree Filigree Embellishment (#731-B).

Monica’s next three cards are all for “his” birthday.  For the first birthday card, Monica started with a different color gilded base and the same die cuts and label: however, she decided to turn this card and make it vertical.  On this card, she chose to use the SS16 Montana Flat Back Glass Rhinestones to radiate out from the focal point, and added a couple of the Watch Mechanism Tibetan Charms to the gear clusters.  Finally, she added two Silver Corner Metal Filigree Embellishment (#807-P) to the corners of the card front.

For her second birthday card, Monica collaged Cheerylyn Clock (B357) and Gears (B340) die cuts over her gilded background.  She then added a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five flanked by one of the “Creative Clocks” Tibetan Charms to create the focal point.  She then scattered a variety of more of the ButterBeescraps gears on the card front with a couple more of the Silver Corner Metal Filigree Embellishment (#807-P) corners…and it just wouldn’t be a “Monica” project without adding a bit of bling to the center of a few of the gears.

The following is Monica’s fourth and final card in this series, and it is just as beautiful as the rest.  Although these cards all use similar products, they really do show how versatile the ButterBeeScraps products are.

If you’ve never seen Monica’s cards before, you’re going to want to go check out her YouTube video…the inside of all of these cards are just as beautiful as their fronts.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed these cards as much as I did.  I hope you stay tuned – I will be posting a very exciting update on my progress on migrating my store over to this website very soon 🙂
