Mixed Media Portrait by Keri Sallee

Good afternoon, everyone!  I have yet another project to share with you today 🙂  Design team member, Keri Sallee, has created a beautiful portrait, and incorporated some yummy ButerBeeScraps embellishments into it.  Here’s a look at her portrait piece:

Now, I love to play with paints and inks, but this is well beyond the splishing and splashing I am capable of!  Keri started by painting the portrait onto her canvas.  She then decided to add some extra dimension to the flowers in the girl’s hair by adding some metal bits and glass rhinestones from the ButterBeeScraps shop.  Here’s a closer look at the hair piece Keri created:

Keri layered a variety of bronze leaves (#850-B) and flowers (#025-B, #288-B, #7635-B and #8567-B) to contrast the bright flowers that she painted into the girl’s hair.  She then added a small bronze butterfly (#888-B) and a bit of sparkle using Aquamarine and Light Colorado Topaz glass rhinestones.

If the added texture in her hair wasn’t enough, Keri also added a 3-dimensional chain around the girl’s neck:

Keri used some bronze cable chain (#CH779-B) from ButterBeeScraps, and then added a bronze peacock (#285-B) pendant to it.  Finally, Keri added a bit more Aquamarine bling along the collar of the girl’s top to tie it back into the hair piece she added 🙂

I hope you enjoyed Keri’s project.  If you’re wanting a bit more detail on how she created this, you may want to hop on over to Keri’s blog and have a read of her blog post.  While you’re there, please show her a little love and tell her I sent you on over 😉  As always, I am grateful you decided to pop by today, and hope you have a great week!  Cheers!
