“Remember” Altered Box by Keri Sallee

Happy Hallowe’en, everyone!!!  I hope all your kidlets are costumed, the pumpkins carved, and your blood sugar ready for a spike…I know I can never keep my hands out of the candy bowl!

Good news…I have another project created by design team member, Keri Sallee, to share with you today.  It is not nearly as creepy as the last one, but it is just as fantastic!

Isn’t it cute?!?!  Keri started with a small wooden box from her local craft store, and sealed it with gesso.  She then broke out her acrylic paints and gave the box that beautiful rich brown color.  On top of the box, Keri tucked a couple of bronze leaves (#671-B) under a large rectangular cabochon (#CAB2448) with a sentiment.  She then framed the cabochon using some bronze cable chain (#CH783-B), which I thought was a very cool idea.  Here’s a closer look at the top of the box:

To pretty up the sides, Keri added a strip of damask ribbon (#RB042-N) around the bottom, which she distressed using some ink.  She then added an antique bronze drawer pull (#HD892-B) to the lid.  Finally, Keri used four bronze filigree beads (#BD064-B) to create small feet for the box to stand on…how adorable!

Opening the lid reveals a scarab pendant nestled inside a small doily…what a perfect way of presenting a small gift to someone!

I hope you enjoyed this project and it inspires you to spend a little time in your creative space 🙂  If you’d like to show Keri some love, please hop on over to her blog to share your love for this little treat.  Thank you for popping by and have a very happy and safe Hallowe’en!  Cheers!
