Good morning, everyone! I have a fabulous way to end the week…with a project share from our very own design team member, Marina Wilson 🙂 Marina has done it again, and created another jaw-dropping altered tag:
Marina started by blending a combination of Forest Moss and Mustard Seed Distress Inks to color the base of her tag, and added Ground Espresso Distress Ink around the edges. She then randomly added pieces of Tim Holtz patterned paper to the tag using Ranger’s Multi Matte Medium. Marina also used Distress Ink to stamp an image from Tim Holtz’s Typography stamp set on the background and sealed the ink using Distress Micro Glaze.
Once the base of her tag was finished, Marina inked and glued the dressform die cut from the Tim Holtz Sewing Room die along the left edge of her tag. She then created a beautiful skirt for the dressform using four Bronze Metal Filigree Embellishments (#592-B). Marina used a combination of Ruby and Petalite patinas from Vintaj mixed with their Glaze to alter and give the filigrees that pretty pink color.
In the close up below, you can see that Marina cut a Bronze Metal Filigree Embellishment (#083-B) in half and layered it over the pink skirt that she created. For the waistband, she used two Bronze Flower Metal Filigree Embellishments (#052-B) and layered some paper flowers from her stash on top. You’ve also gotta love that little “corsage” she added to the dressform using three teeny flowers from her stash with a couple of Bronze Leaf Metal Filigree Embellishments (#670-B).
…and what good would a tag be without the finishing touches? Marina used the Tim Holtz Honeycomb stencil with Crackle Texture Paste to add a couple of accents in the lower right and upper left corners of her tag. She also added a small tear along the right side of the tag, then stitched it together using some waxed linen thread from her stash. Finally, she added a “pearl” necklace to her dressform using White Opal Liquid Pearls, glittered the edges of her tag using Cotton Candy Stickles, and tied some seam binding through the hole at the top of the tag.
I hope you are in awe of this tag as much as I am, and it inspires you to break out some ooey, gooey products to create your own masterpiece. If you’d like to take a closer look at Marina’s tag, please hop on over to her YouTube channel and have a boo at the video she uploaded. Thank you so much for popping by…I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Cheers!
