Skull Collage Plaque by Keri Sallee

Good morning, everyone!  I have a mixed media project created by deisgn team member, Keri Sallee, to share with you today…and the timing of this project couldn’t get any better!  Check out this very cool collage plaque that Keri designed:

Bwahahahahah…I absolutely LOVE how this spooky plaque turned out!  Check out that skull!  Keri started off with a wooden plaque from Darice, and clearly did some mixed media magic to create that awesome background.  She then layered all sorts of ButterBeeScraps metal bits onto the plaque to frame that fantastic skull in the center.

Not only did she layer different colored metals, she also draped some chain through the eyelets on a couple of the charms.  And she didn’t stop there…she hung more charms from the chain.  Here’s another close up of the right hand side of the plaque:

Spooky Vintage Couple Altered Halloween Frames

Good morning, blog readers!  Yesterday was a ride, eh?  (yes…I AM Canadian…even when I type…lol)  Well, I sent out as many notifications as I could think of about the email hack, and that email account has now been deleted.  Again…sorry for the hassle, and a reminder that that email was not connected to this website or my new email address in any way, so all your information is safe 🙂

On to the good stuff…a project share created by design team member Heidi Blankenship 😀  Today, Heidi is getting us into the Halloween mood by altering two small black frames she picked up from her local craft store.  Heidi chose to frame a couple of old vintage photos and matted them using a combination of black cardstock and paper from Tim Holtz’s “Regions Beyond” 8×8 paper pad.  She used the Classic Ovals Small and Large dies from Spellbinders to create the cut-outs in the mats.

To add a little extra something, something, Heidi glued a Brass Vine Flourish Metal Filigree Embellishment (#006-G) on the left and right hand sides of each portrait.  She then added a black Resin Flower Cabochon (#RES612-BK) backed with some May Arts metallic gold string to one of the top corners of each frame.  Heidi then finished the frames off by hanging a charm below each of the corner embellishments using a black safety pin and adding some SS16 Jet Flat Back Glass Rhinestones and SS12 and SS20 Siam Flat Back Glass Rhinestones for some sparkle.

Heidi chose to use the spider web  and candelabra charms from the Haunted Hallows and Parisian Tibetan Charms Collections.  Just so that they would coordinate with the other embellishments, she used a metallic gold spray paint to alter the color.
